Shiatsu is a proven modality for balancing the nervous system. Stress usually melts away, ease enters the breath, spaciousness and relaxation are re-established in the body.
During the treatment the energy flow in the meridians is re-established and the body opens up to become receptive. I combine Shiatsu with deeply nurturing and finely attuned, somatic based touch. I mobilize your joints and bring fluidity and freedom back into your being. You will feel fully met.

My aim in the session is to release tension and stress from your physical and emotional body and your mind. Pain and fear are constricting the body on a very deep cellular level and a constricted cell can’t take in nourishment or release toxins. It’s stuck.
This is the space where healing happens, once the internal flow of energy has opened up, the body can balance itself. And it then effortlessly reconnects with the nourishing energy field around it and can actually receive.
Life becomes much more easy, healthy and fluid.
I might give you some little pearls of wisdom, a suggestion or two about how you can attend to yourself on a daily basis, maintaining the change that has occurred during the session and even taking it further.
I like to meet each client in presence, feeling into what is moving in the present moment and start from there. The aim of the session is to support You to feel more of yourself, to incarnate fully into each present moment with more aliveness and joy circulating through your being. I love to invite spaciousness into your body, to create more expansion, to let the spirit and the soul come home into a relaxed and gracious place – allowing for sensations to be sensed and feelings to be felt.
I completed my diploma in Zen Shiatsu Therapy in 2000 and since then, my life path has brought me into contact with some very special teachers and therapists who influence my way of touching and getting in contact with the core of a person.
Influences are; Body Mind Centering, Somatic Bodywork, Tantric and Shamanistic practices, the teachings of the Integral Being Institute, Yoga, Qi Gong and Dance.
I’m just now completing a training with Katie Klein about “Healing Touch for Trauma’ It’s a very deep and effective way to heal ongoing stress patterns and Trauma.
In the session I weave these influences into the Zen Shiatsu treatment as required, to align the energy flow through the body and to generate a deep relaxation and rejuvenation.
The treatment is done on a futon mat on the ground and the client is wearing loose light clothing, preferably natural fibres. I will apply pressure along the meridian lines and points that need to be balanced, either from not working properly or from overworking. I will move your joints and your limbs to bring more fluidity into your body, your soul and your way of being.
There is a strong power inherent in the Chinese Meridian System for clearing and healing imbalances in the physical, emotional, spiritual and conceptual realms of a human being. I’m very grateful for this wisdom having been cultivated over millennia and still being available today!
The studio is situated just outside Mullumbimby, near Byron Bay on beautiful land with direct view of Mount Chingogan, the guardian of this place.
