DRYING OR AGEING

What we see as ageing is actually mostly drying.

Last Friday we explored the Psoas in class and the Psoas loves hydration.

The skin and the mucosa, the organs, ligaments and other structures in the body start to dry out as circulation is not happening as easy anymore as it used to be.

Adrenals working overtime creates dryness in the body too; hormonal shifts particularly the dropping of oestrogen in women brings along dryness,

the skin looses the plumpness and moisture.

Also interventions through medication, HRT, pill, trauma, conditioning, narrowing one’s life expression, falling into a trap, accidents, chronic stress, overwhelm, overriding …

… all contribute to the pulse of life being dampened down .. and that will dry out the cellular fluids , the synovial fluids, the sexual fluids , the moisture in the skin texture internally and externally.

There are simple ways to counter act this process :

I like to invite you to bring your hand to a tight place - feel your hand gently touching the tightness, feel the tightness meeting the touch of the hand… the hand might move slowly, slightly, like reassuring, greeting that part of the body. Breathing with it, hanging out with it … micro moving it …. And slowly slowly the part will awaken, hydrate a little .. and that little bit of filling up can be met with the warmth of your inner smile and encouraged into showing up more; allowing a little bit more space for the fluids to awaken, for the dry desert to be hydrated, to be filled with love, awareness and presence. And now feel the waters, the fluids, the oceans flowing and pulsating through you; welcoming them back .

Ah yes … there is the humming and purring, the little sounds of care and love, the bigger sounds of toning and atuning, of resonating and vibrating into the tissue of your body; the organs, the muscles, the bones and it’s marrow.

Enjoy this simple way to hydrate your body, to feel more fluid, alive and present… it’s simple but yes, you do have to slow down and make time for this exploration. You’ll feel the difference in yourself - your presence and your pulse become slower and slower; there is more breath, more saliva in your mouth, more awakenings in your loins.
